October 0, 2010 - Command Performance Benefit Concert: The Amazing Wilder Home, Grass Valley CA
NCCC presents Command Performance Benefit Concert featuring the best new works of 2010! Vance's In These Uncertain Times and The New Life (commissioned by Twin Cities Concert Association) for violin and piano 4 hands performed by violinist, Richard Altenbach and pianists, Aileen James and Ken Hardin. The concert will also feature composer Jerry Grant several guest composers and outstanding student composer works from MIM's Young Composers Concert! call 478-0983 for info, reservations etc.
June 22, 2010 - WET INK Concert: Amaral Center 7:30 PM
A FREE CONCERT sponsored in part by the California Arts Council. This Concert of NEW MUSIC will feature the collaboration of three community choirs: The Nevada Union High School Choir, The Music in the Mountains Festival Chorale and the Sierra Master Chorale joined by the CSUS Percussion Ensemble premiering a new setting of John Donne's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" by Vance, and works by Sydeman, Grant, Lauridsen, Shapiro and Davis (The Matrix) Cage, Westlake, Applebaum and more!

A performance of MIM's Young Composers Program. Works by 20 composition students written for and performed by the Third Angle Ensemble (fl, cl, vio, vc, pno.) from Portland.
This is an amazing concert!
March 6, 2010 - Sound and Vision Festival: Nevada Theater
Premiering "Prelude", a collaborative film with Nevada City film maker, Dick Mentzer featuring a performance of Vance's Prelude no.1 by pianist, Joan Tumilty.

Vance's Ave Maria with the 75 voice Sierra Master Chorale and Sierra Brass with Ken Hardin conducting. Seventh-day Adventist Church, Grass Valley, CA. 2 concerts: 2pm and 7pm
October 10, 2009 - Benefit Concert: Red Dog House
NCCC's annual fall Benefit Concert. A decadent affair at the Red Dog House in Nevada City featuring contemporary music, fine wines and hors d'oeuvres. Fresno State's Matthew Darling will perform Vance's Nyumbani for marimba. This concert will also feature music from Sydeman, Grant, Graham, Altenbach and special guest composers.
June 10, 2009 - WET INK Concert: Amaral Center
Festival of New Music featuring the highly acclaimed Del Sol String Quartet premiering Vance's new string quartet "Between Midnight and Dawn" as well as new quartets by three other NCCC composers. Vance's "Duo for Percussion" will also be premiered by the talented percussionist, Peter Newsom.
